Heater Core, Radiator, or something else?

Heater Core, Radiator, or something else?
Hello all. I had the heater core replaced8 months ago along with the upper & lower radiator hose and the heater core hose at the firewall. Recently the puff of sweet smelling smoke came back. It comes out of the front defrost vent and main vents when set on "vent" or defrost. It happens when the temp **** is set on heat. More smoke seems to come out when the engine is revved, and the front windshield gets fogged up with an oily residue.
Could it be the heater core again, or could it be the radiator (which is still stock). Or something else?
thanks

Ok, Just got the car back from the shop, they ran some tests, (pressure test, etc.) could not find any leaks. Also they didn't see any "smoke" coming out of the vents. On the drive home I set the temp to cold and the control on Defrost. About5 minutes later I switched the temp from cold to hot and poof, the puff of smoke comes out.If they didn't find any leaks, and the heater core seems finewhat else could it be?

its more then likely the heater core, but if you want to try something random to see if it helps. Bleed out your radiator to make sure theres no air bubbles in it. Simply just take the rad cap off and turn the heater on high while the car is running, make sure its cool so you dont burn your hand lol, and then as the level of antifreeze goes down, fill her up. Then replace the cap, take her for a drive and see if it did anything.
Sorry to say though, its probably the heater core.

There is a "SLIGHT" possibility that whoever replaced your old heater core with the new one, that they didn'tclean out out all the antifreezein the very bottom of the heater boxwhen they replaced the old heater core and that's what your seeing.

Ok, so I bypassed the heater core by connecting the two hoses together using an adapter and clamps. I topped of the radiator with coolant, then filled the overflow bottle to the "cold" line. Ran the car and checked for leaks...didn't see any. Nothing on the ground after leaving it in the garage overnight. After driving home from work today I did notice a cloud of white smoke that came out from under the front when I came to a sudden stop, but I guess it could be whatever was left over in the heater core spilling out onto the headers? Once home I checked the overflow bottle and noticed it was empty. Am I losing coolant? It just doesn't seem right. I feel like I have to keep filling up with coolant.
