Default Car still running bad. Not the TFI module. Plz help me

Hey guys.. i still havnt got this fixed. i had the TFI module checked at the auto store yesterday and it passed every test. the car got worse and worse day by day so i checked and changed the fuel filter and it was sooo dirty. it was black with junk in there and stuff. after i changed that the car ran alot better but it still cuts off at 3500 rpms. when you push on the gas the car just lunges and stalls until you let off the gas and then it runs fine. one of the codes i pulled was running lean on the left side so the guy at the auto store told me it could be the O2 sensor. they cost a lot of money 70$ for one! so i just bought 1 and changed the left side. anyways, it didnt make a difference. to me...it seems like it would be something to do with the throttle. some kind of sensor that is not mixing the fuel and air right. what kind of problems would you have if your throttle position sensor was acting up. what if the MAF sensor was bad..my car idles fine and it doesnt miss a beat until you push the gas down half an inch. and also it only seems to do it when the car is under load. like while your driving. if im parked, i can rev the car up and it will spit and sputter a lil bit and backfire sometimes but i can get the rpm's to go up to red line. then you have it in 1st gear and are rolling and push the gas down a tiny bit and it messes up. what is the map sensor and what does it look like. plz guys..i have to figure this out. anyones opinion is greatly appreciated.

anyone have any ideas? how can you test the MAF sensor or test any other sensors without going out and buying new ones.

slow down here man.

1.The first step would be to remove the negative battery cable to clear your codes.

2.Put a piece of duck tape over that small crack and spray the inside of the MAF with Electrical Contact Cleaner. I no longer advise Q TIP and alcohol, too many people break the element.

3.Make sure your MAF is sitting in a straight up POSITION, not to the side or upside down, all clamps tight afterward.

4. Black Coming out of your fuel filter, would meen to drop the gas tank and replace the burt out fuel pump and strainer. Gas is not black, but thats what you will get from a burt pump motor.

5. Re drive the car, any CEL'S that come on again will be true areas of issues.

i betcha its still the tfi module bro. My car did the exact same thing, and had all sorts of issues due to the tfi module, along with many many others.

I am going to throw my cheap pennies in. I would start simple. Make sure that MAF is cleaned with carb cleaner. CHANGE the fuel filter. Then follow through with what the others are saying abt the tfi module. aodeo6 has the right idea. ALWAYS START SIMPLE.
