Default to stroke or not to stroke...

i have been contemplating getting a 331 stroker for quite some time now and i plan on upgrading the HCI with aluminum heads and nice everything else so is stroking it goign to give me that much more power then say the stock stroke but with a forged set up??

You won't regret it! Don't stop at 331, go 347, there is no replacement for displacement. My next engine will be 347 or bigger.

well dont i have to get more machining done if its going to be a 347? or since i have to get it honed anyways it will be worth it?

You have to grind a small amount at the bottom of the block for rod bolt clearance but it is nothing major.

well i thik im just going to go with the 331 becasue im trying to get the stroker built and the HCI all upgraded for under 3,000 so we will wee how it goes..and then i have to rebuild the tranny..

There is nothing wrong with that, what H/I/C are you going with? What transmission do you have now, auto or 5 speed?

um, im not sure what HCI im goign with yet but its an auto..and i ahve already bought the upgrades for the tranny im just gonna rebuild it..but i am not sure what i should do about the heads and intake the most..

Shift kit? If you don't have one already get yourself a good converter. How much power are you wanting to make?
