Default MAF conversion

i getting an A9L computer for my MAF conversion. for the sensor i have a question. can i buy a regular stock maf sensor thats used, take out the sensor and put it in one of those 75MM sensor tubes or do i have to buy a 75mm tube with the sensor that its designed for it. im not sure how that works with the sensor housing. also i know that i have to splice in the few wires for the MAF sensor but do i have to splice in other wires as well. i think i read for the fuel pump or something i have to do that, is that true. another thing i dont plan on using my cruise control so do i have to still rewire or can i choice not to.

Some aftermarket MAF housings reuse the stock sensor but have a sampling tube (C&L) that need to be matched to the injetors you are using. There is a tech article on this site on how to do the conversion. Other than the few wires to splice you need to move two pins on the harness to a differentlocation on the harness. Its not as hard as it sounds, I did not connect the wires to the fuel pump and speed sensor.

yeah thats what I did. I bought a stock MAF off ebay for about $10. Then I took the sensor off and put it on my C&L. But i'm also on a budget. If I had to do it again, i'd buy a pro-m or something. Actually, i'd probably just get a summit one.

You could just run a stock SN95 MAF for the time being.. 70mm and cheap (I bought mine for $35).
