if you do it your self i would say around 200.00 bucks includes rebuild kit, clutches, and shift kit, but if your pushing around 400 h/p i would use red alto clutches and kolen steels, with a trans-go shift kit...the alto clucthes are prety salty but it wont slip

how many times a month do you plan on rebuilding it ?

stock rebuild doesn't hold up to 200hp for more than a year

you really need better clutch packs and mod it so it oils better, manual valvebody, oil cooler lots of stuff. don't go less than 3000 on your converter or you'll be dissapointed. 400 hp on your car should flash about 3000, maybe just under

I've stated on here before, the AOD is not for the beginner. You will need a couple of special tools to complete the work. After saying this, I will also say it canbe done by the first timer, if you don't rush, and double/triple check your measurements. I highly suggest you purchase a DVDthat will guide you step by step. The Badshoe DVDis one of the better ones, I own a copymyself.

google, Performance Automatic Racing Transmissions, they have what is called the street smart package for around $2000 for the AOD or the AODE. it has heavy duty clutches, a shift kit and valve body that allows you to shift manually for racing. and the AOD is rated up to 450 HP, the AODE is rated up to 550 HP, and the best part is it comes with a life time warrenty. you can buy them through www.jegs.com and www.cjponeyparts.com. as soon as i get my taxes back im getting my AOD.
