i got a 5 speed. this is what i want to do. give me some input on where i should not spend. U/D pullies, trac lok carbon fiber rebuilt kit, MGW shifter, nitto 555R 245/50/16, some performance intake manifold, MAF conversion, upper and lower control arms, some ford racing springs. mallory performance coil, electric fan. if u could get my car to run low13's that would be an improvement.
these are a waste for you...... imo... at your stage of the game and cash on hand
1) ud pullies (worth 1 solid tenth, but you'll have charging issues)
2) traclock rebuild (unless it's a 1-wheel willie now, and if it is, go to 4.10's while your in there)
3) nitto's (if you wanna hook go mickey thompson et street radials)
4) upper ca's , you only need the lowers, i like hpm mega-bite jr's
5) the intake, you'll only see 5-7 hp w/ out heads
5) maf conversion (unless you have drivability probs)
6) electric fan (it's nice at the track, but a bag of ice does the same thing)

you have the ability to break 13's as you sit, actually should see 13.60-13.80 if you can pulla 1.7x 60 foot time

nittos won't get you that, more like a 2.0+ which is attainable on a street tire and decent driving.

squirt 75 or so on it and you'll break a 12, the 4.10's help a bunch too, even though it's just 1 step up for you.

my '89 notch 5-speed went 13.20's on motor w/ just 4.10's, et streets and southsides w/ full exhaust (long tubes + flowmaster) squirting 75 it went 12.50's

i also had smog and ac delete + cai, and thats about it really.

Nitrous bob gave you some great advice. You should run 13's easily with your set-up. No need to convert to Mass Air yet. You don't have the mods on your motor to require maf. Keep your speed density system. Adder can give you tons of advice on tuning sd. A maf conversion at this point gives you nothing in terms of performance gains.

lol i didnt know that my threat was revived. well the u/d pullies im going to get anyways cause there only 100 bucks and i have an upgraded alt anyways so thats not bad. my trac lok is doing a one wheel willie, ive i pop the clutch i will have both wheels take me, but if i do a brake stand ill always get a one wheel peel going. i guess it still does work but im sure not as well as it should. but before i do anything im going change the diff fluid to see if that makes a difference because its black in there. the MT's ill check for prices but i need 245/50/16 tires. so your saying stock uppers are fine and that i should change the lowers, if i do this can i then remove my quad shocks, or should i leave them in with the new lowers. as for the intake i want to find a nice used one for a good price just for the bit of extra power and for engine detail to.

another thing to ask. is upgrading to roller rockers a good mod, will there be any power there?. also i think i need new front shocks. ive been looking and i cant decide on a good shock. there all like 100 a peice. how are those lakewood drag shocks, or whats an affortable strut to get?

Lakewoods are pretty good, but personally, I'd get the Strange adjustables for just a couple of bucks more. You can set them for street driving, and change the setting when you go to the track. They give you the best of both worlds. Initially I would say the roller rockers won't give you much bang for the buck, but if your running the stock valve train, going to 1.7 rockers will be worth the money.

Here's some control arms that work great and are lightfor the price.

I would change to 4.10 gears, get the sticky tires, and 125 hit of nitrous. If you can drive there should be no problem running in the 12s. Have you ever run at the drag strip before?
If you are in the market for Control Arms.....go with UPR!!

Best for the $$
