Default mustang gauge cluster

Hey I have a gauge cluster the one that only goes up to 85 mph and its 10 mph off.So if im going like 40 the speedo will say Im doing 50.So I just bought a new one on ebay well used but its the 140 mph one.My car is an 89 and it says its for 87-89 so Im good there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...16488&rd=1 Will this new cluster fix it being 10mph off? Also I wont be able to change what the odemeter reads right? These new gauges say 33k miles on them and my car has 88k.thanks?I dont think I can change that just making sure though.thanks.

no..if you have gears you need to change the drive gear on the end of the cable that inserts into tranny

Your speedo is off cause you probably have a different size tire/rear gears and never changed the speedo gear to show the correct speed at teh speedo.

I believe this is what you need and it goes on the end of the cable ..tranny need not be removed for this replacement

remove the bolt that holds the retainer on the tranny housing and clip will slide back..pull assembley out... a small black clip holds gear on ..using pocket screwdriver pop clip out...slide on new gear and reassemble in reverse order
