Sometimes when I turn my key to start my car the rpms on the tach will jump to like 1500 then fall down and start..What is causing the tach needle to jump up like that when the key is on the start positsion but that car isnt started yet. It will like jump for a split second when i turn the key on start position then fall then start.

as long as tach is functional in all aspects I wouldn't worry.. the tac is voltage driven like the rest of the cluster and there is a internal voltage reg on cluster. and if something is bad on that circuit..it could exibit symptoms a such
