Default Explorer Head Swap

Can someone give me some information on an explorer head swap for my 94 gt. What years have the gt 40 and what years have the gt40ps. I know that u need special headers for the gt 40ps but what kind, should i also swap the intake manifold? And what problems might i run into while doing this? And is there anything that i need to know about this.

If you want to use GT40's you might want to have them milled to retain the stock compression ratio. The GT40P's have a smaller combustion chamber that will bring your compression up to 9.5 to 1. The downside is the sparkplugs are in the head at less of an angle than the stock heads and this causes interference between thesparkplugs and the headers. With that beingsaid I still like my GT40P heads, they make pretty decent power.

I had to run a 90* plug wire to #7 plug and cut a sparkplug socket in half vertically to tighten the plug with, no real problems to speak of. The others were not a problem at all.
