Is the truck 302 the same as the mustang 302. I know the intake is different. But other than that????

no, if im not mistaken its like the thunderbirds have the5.0 but they are not the High Output engines like the Mustangs

The block and some of the parts are the same but the EFI(trucks) is a lower preformance version of the HO in the Mustang.

They are non HO 5.0's. less HP and different firing order.

some truck motors are non roller and some are roller...depends on the year and less hp due to different cams and a few other minor things

i need to find a ol' truck 2barrol 302, and a c4 for my 88 ranger with a 2.3.........things awful slow

Same block more or less. Same E7 heads too on later ones I think. Different cam and firing order along with the intake. The trucks' 5.0 put out around 185hp I think while the Mustang HO was in the 220hp range (slight variation but you get the idea).
