megasquirt IS SD

so if you install megasquirt you just converted to SD
A few people have ran it with the air meter, personally I think it would be a completely stupid move though.

i was wondering where you guys purchase your ms from and which version would you get? i am looking at the fully assembled ones. what else do i need to hook it up to the car and my computer? any info will help thanks
I'd recommend buying from diyautotune. They are very helpful. Like Scout said, they are cake to install & put together & trust me once you run one and play with it a little you'll never want to run a stock computer again. No need to have a dynotune or have to have air meters calibrated for injectors which saves a ton.
You can tune them yourself if you get a wideband o2 sensor & controller (like $200-250), then use the logger to help tune the car.

I got the msII v3.0, but I personally would recommend the msI v3.0. There's no point in spending the extra money, the msI 3.0 is nearly perfect. I would say get the unassembled kit, save some money, & put it together yourself. (like scout said, it's like legos, super easy)

I'll honestly never buy a stock computer when doing any engine swap again after having experience with one of these & knowing how cheap they are to buy/assemble/use, like I said though It's a good idea to look into a wideband o2 to help you get an idea what's going on with the car. Innovate sells a few for decent price, aem 6 in 1 are probably best deal i've seen though, on ebay they're a little over $200.

diyautotune makes something you can put together to where it will just plug into the engine harness. You could probably do it just as easy if you just bought a used ford computer from a junkyard car, gutted the insides & spliced the wires into it, then repinned as needed.
