Default AOD won't shift. HELP!

The AOD in the Mustang will not shift down when I get on it! I drive in D and it shifts up through the gears fine, but when I get on it a little it won't downshift back into the powerband. As I give it more and more gas it begins to feel like the tranny is slipping, like when the clutch is going out in a stick car. It will not downshift until you come to a stop. Please help!

check fluid level in tranny and it may need a filter change but when mine did that it had tarnish build up in the valve body causing the valves to stick and needed cleaning.....also make sure the tv cable is adjusted properly and if that is okay there may be an issue with the governor inside the tailshaft unit...best to take it to a tranny shop if your experience is minimal with AOD'S

I didn't even get on it, honestly. I was driving today and no shift... He's gonna think I was beating it but I really was not getting on it at all. I came home from work last night and it was running/ shifting fine. Took it to meet my mom for breakfast and it would not downshift unless I came to a stop. It only has about 60xxx and the tranny fluid looks clean. It's just a weekend car and it really don't get beat on a whole lot. I'm just confused as to what would make it just stop shifting right.

if it sits alot it may have a sticking valve due to tarnish build up..be honest with your dad and tell him what you just wrote..hopefully he'll be understanding...after all crap happens sometimes for no rhyme or reason

Figured out the problem and thought I'd post up for future reference. I went out to look at the TV cable and the bushing was broke, which made the cable fall out of place. I put it back in there and threw a cotter pin on it to hold it in place and problem fixed. Now I gotta get a bushing through Ford, but there is not much pressure on it whatsoever so it's good for now. Thanks for all your guys' help.
