i have a 88 gt and i was driving it today and everything was fine then i stoped for fuel and went to start it again and it was shaking very very bad and there is a noise comming from the right side of the motor and i think it might be in the head or somthing. has any one ever herd of this or have any ideas??

Did the whole car shake? Does it shake while driving or just when idling? Can you describe the noise? Pop the hood and see if you can move anything that shouldnt. Header feel loose? Valve cover loose? If it looks good start the engine. Stand at the side you think its from and give it a listen. Grab a long screwdriver and put one end to your ear and the other the valve cover. Hear anything funny? Describe it as best you can. Noises can be tough to diagnos online.

you most likely have a misfire look for a wire laying on a header or bad wire somewhere..mist ignition components with a spray bottle and look for arcing

That to. Mjr46 is probably a lot closer than i am on this.

i had 2 spark plug wires burned through and before i replaced them the whole car would shake up and down but it never had any weird noises coming from the engine

the wierd noises could be spark arcing

so today i started pulling plugs looking for an anwser and droped on under the car when i went to get it i found that the rubber on the balancer was missing and it was very loose. and the noise i herd was it bouncing around.

replace the balancer and be on your way to smooth sailing...you'll need a puller to do such and a chain wrench to hold pulley to loosen `15/16 bolt or an impact gun and a short well socket..either or
