I'm boxing in my lower control arms
I'm going to box in my lower control arms. The thing is that the rear sway bar mounts underneath, on the inside of the control arm. When I box them, there will be no place to mount it. What would be the results without a rear sway bar? Should I just weld on a mounting bracket on the underside of the control arm after I box them, to put my sway bar back on? I don't not drive very much on street, just a weekend here or there and usually just around town. I'm still deciding if I want to make this car drag onlyor not. Any help would be appreciated.

Why waste the time boxing in stock arms when there are so many good aftermarkets that don't cost much at all. I'm sure the bushings are shot on you stock arms anyway, so throw downsome cabbage and stop being foolish.

+1 on new ones, but if you must, replace the bushings while youre at it, and also, Summit sells their swaybar that attatches on the inside of the control arms, to eliminate the need to put it inside the arms

Dont remember off hand who makes them but you can buy pre-cut boxing plates. They have a notch cut in them to fit the sway bar. The rear sway bar helps alot on the drag strip, it keeps the rear launching straight.

They do cost money . Money I can use on something that I feel is more important like tires. This mod would be better than nothing! Wouldn't you agree? Besides it is real easy for anyone to give suggestions that cost tons of cash for any mod. But why foolishly blow funds on something you can modify yourself to withstand what you have. I'm not looking for a set-up for 500hp. When I do, then I will put more cash in it to make it strong enough to handle what I have. I mean, aftermarket control arms is hust a steel box anyway! Why waste cash!

because the stock arms are cheap no matter what you do to them. they are cheap metal and will still flex even if you box them jsut not as much. dish out some money and get adjustable ones where you can dial in your suspension just right for launching
