Default t5 tranny

last night i took out my transmission from my car to see why my peddle wobbles real badly and squeaks inside housing , when i disconnected the clutch cable the fork just fell and noticed that there was a piece missing from it, this whole time i thought it was my trow out bearing that was bad, maybe this could also be the problem my tranny grind sometimes.

the pivot ball looks good and yeah it would squeak i would have to lightly press the pedal so it can stop. I went ahead and opened it up to see if theres any bearings or pieces of something in there, and i did find one bearing ball dont know where its from also this tranny would whine alot real loud and also would pop out of second gear when down shifting and would grind into 2nd and 3rd and when driving all of a sudden at a certain speed a vibration would come from tranny also noticed it looks like this tranny has been worked on before. I also think this tranny was about to break already, im going to have to look for another one.

yeah sounds like you need a rebuild. if your gonna get a new one and you'll have to turn that one in for a core you might as well rip it a part and take a look at everything. fivepointoh just rebuilt his and i'm sure you could post pics of everything and determine if a rebuild kit. he made it sound like it wasn't all that hard, but i don't think any of his gears were messed up, just the syncros. pull it out one piece at a time and lay it in order on some cardboard or clean area

yea i just rebuilt my T5 not too long ago and ive done two more since then. simple task for the most part, but it depends all your level of abilities. i had to learn on the fly....basically meaning pulling it apart 3 seperate time to rebuild it cause i made dumb mistakes my first go around at it. next couple of times were flawless rebuilds and i havent heard back from them since...so i take that as a good thing. if all your plan on doing is replacing the blocker rings and bearings you can rebuild it easy with relatively no skill required. i dont really see how you could F it up.

if you have questions PM me.
