Thanks man that's all I was tryin to figure out.

I'm assuming then that an 8.8 would be the same?
For example:
(8.8) 3.55's on an (8.8) 2.73 traction lock carrier

Thank you for the help
-Joe

Yes! ^^^^ ...anything for an 8.8" is for an 8.8" ....any gear/carrier for a 7.5" is for a 7.5"....

Yeah I knew that. I thought that I had to change carriers as well when I swapped gears. I think the old 8" and 9" rears are like that anyway.

About how much HP and TQ will a stock 7.5 take? Probably not much I'm sure.
The SROD and the 7.5 will be the weak links in this equation for sure.
Thanks

I had a 7.5" behind my 408 stroker motor with a posi in it the day I got it running. That posi lasted for about 5 miles if that before I had an open differential.

I have an extra 8.8 housing that was stripped and painted if anyone is interested in it for 100 bucks. Was out of a Lincoln LSC so it doesn't have the outer stabilizer shock mounts like most GTs.
