I'm using arp head bolts with aluminum heads. Do I use the manuals torque spec or is there a special one? What do I torque it to in other words

Thanks

Default ARP 7/16 bolt

Due to theexpansion rate of ALUMINUM, it is recommended that the torque should be 60 ft lbs with ARP MOLY LUBRICANT (or ARP THREAD SEALER) Copied off instructions of thr ARP head bolts I put into my engine 4-27-2009 Use thread sealer on bottom bolts as they go into coolant.

Default ARP 7/16 bolt

Aotomotive Racing Product 1863 Eastman Av Ventura Ca 93003 Tel.805-339-2200 Fax 805 650 0742 Information I gave was relevant to ALUMINUM heads. Following is instructions that came with my bolts. 1 To insure proper thread engagement and accurate torque readings, clean and re-tap, all threads in block. Used bolts, make sure threads are clean. 2 IF head bolts protrude into the water jacket (lower head bolts) lubricate the threads with ARP THREAD SEALER. Bolts into blind hole (top head bolts) lubricate with ARP MOLY ASSSEMBLY LUBRICANT or 30wt motor oil 3 ARP recommends using the ARP MOLY LUBRICANT or at the very least, a good quality Moly Lubricant as opposed to motor oil. This is due to higher friction on the bolts as well as inconsistencies in the clamping force of the fasteners when motor oil (or low quality lubricant) is used. PRELOAD (TORQUE) RECOMMENDATIONS: A Torque values are based on 75% of thje fasteners yield strenght. Use the manufacturers torque sequence but do not use the manufacturers torque specs. Torque the bolts to 65 ft bs for ARP MOLY ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT (OR ARP THREAD SEALER) or torque to 85 ft lbs with 30wt motor oil. B THis is part I sent you as this is relevant to your build. Due to the heat expansion rate of ALUMINUM, it is recommended that the torque should be 60 ft lbs with ARP MOLY LUBRICANT (or ARP THREAD SEALER). NOTE: Do not use any other Moly Lubricant, Use only ARP MOLY LUBRICANT or head gasket failure can result. . I had the ARP MOLY but not sealer , my local machinist at PM Performance said Permatex high temperature thread sealant will work

I just torqued them to 75 ft-lbs all the way around. Permatex sealant on bottom bolts, 30w oil on top bolts.
