Exclamation Timing question..

Would it make sense to change the timing on my 5.0 to 14 and run 91 octane with everything on the motor still stock? What happens when you change the timing does it gain hp? Ive been curious and heard a lot of mustang owners doing this.....!

Yes, advancing the timing will make more power, and yes, it is a good idea to start running 91/93 ocatane because it creats less of a chance that pining will occur. The general rule of thumb it to adcance your timing 1 degree until the motor starts pining, or you're satisfied. Generally though, 5.0s work best between 13 and 15 degrees of timing, some people have went more, some less, but that's a good average.
