Default door chime problem

The door chime in my car does not work with just the drivers door open but if you open the pass door or the hatch it works fine. I know the switch is fine because when you set the dimmer switch to have the dome light on then the the chime will work when you open the drivers door. I am not sure what this means. Any ideas?

get the wiring diagram for the door switches.........they are what trigger the door chime, that is how the door chime knows the door is open, also it'll be triggered by a similar sound when key is in ignition and lights are left on, but since it is one sie prob specific, my money would be on the door switch, but I'd still trace the circuit to be sure

I'm not looking at a wiring diagram so I can't comment 100 percent on that yet, that's why I suggested grabbing a diagram of the system

You could take the few mins and swap the them and see if it follows to the p/s then you will know the switch is bad or not.

But do you really like hearing that chiming?
