my wife's 1985 Capri 5.0 has a problem when it's up to operating temp. it will be running great then just die. and it won't start back up until it cools down, just turns over. the car was a throttle body injected car converted to carb and has a new MSD pro billet distributor. any ideas where to start?

other than the msd dizzy what does the rest of the ignition system consist of??? when it dies have you checked for fuel and or spark or lack there of for both??

Was it running fine before, or did the carb swap just occur and now you have the problem? Sounds like it could be a clogged filter, or a kink in the fuel line, vapor lock, carb is set wrong etc etc.

i checked the carb and it was squirting and i pulled the plugs to make sure they weren't fouled and they were good. the ignition is factory, i'm wondering if a 6A box will solve the problem

wow i'm gonna have to look tomorrow when it's light out. all i could see is the solenoid and the coil. i don't see a duraspark box anywhere. her's is all stock with the big dual snorkle air cleaner and emissions crap everywhere. what a mess
