I have a 88' Gt and I installed the King Cobra Clutch.. i think its a great clutch way better then the stock clutch, well anything is better then that...but the main reason I got the King Cobra is cuz its one of the cheapest @ $160 for the whole kit</P>

I have an 88 gt with a couple mods done. I am very pleased with the Stage 2 Centerforce clutch. I used the factory replacement flywheel however. the only thing i would do differant is to get a higher toothed, aluminum flywheel. everyone that has a 5.0 that has driven my car (3 people, lol) said they will get a centerforce teh next time they have to replace thier clutch. i believe i got mine for about $350.. but i think with this cluthc u get what u pay for. I have absolutely no complaints w/ the Centerforce Stage 2 clutch.

How do you like your FRPP Heavy Duty clutch? Is it really stiff? I've seen people love 'em as a good inexpensive clutch or blast 'em as a misrable peice of crap. There seems to be no middle ground. I mean, its the same as the King Cobra, just stiffer as the kc has a revised internal geometry, right?

Try looking at Spec III clutch kits. They're really sweet, buddy of mine just put one in his stang, really grabs well, good pedal feel, however they're more of a racing application. 89muscle is right, the FRPP clutches are great, and also more heavy duty. I think that for your HP goals, and assuming that you'll want more power after you get there, I'd go with Centerforce.

Anyone know about the D.S.S 600 hp clutch kit which includes FRPP Heavy duty pressure plate and centerforce dual friction disk ? Its only $259 bucks and that sounds really cheap too me. Would you consider it even for a 300 horsepower car ?
