Usually you won't get low oil pressure on a fresh motor even if you think the rings are burnt up. Have you taken a look at the main bearings?

not likely as low oil pressure would affect the system as a whole not just 2 cyl

okay well i woke up late and didnt get around to pulling the engine. i had no other problems with the car prior to this besides for the oil pressure so i really am clueless as to what caused it.

I've seen diesel engines at work break compression rings for no apparent reason. Usually we attribute it to manufacturing defects, or out of spec ring gaps, or clearance between the ring and lands. If whoever put your motor together didn't check the clearances that could be it. You'd have to pull the bad power pack to be sure. Hope that's not it though. They usually score the liner when that's the case.

If i remember right it had A LOT of work done to it, and you dident pay to much.

Ok then you are gone to know the rod length and the stroke and the piston pin diameter. If it is a 347 most of these kits are 3.40 stroke unless you have a good block and bore it 4.125 or what ever. so the thing we really need to know is what rod lenght and pin diameter you have. wide bearing clearances will cause a new engine to have low oil press. or a bad oil pump. but a bad pump is not a real common thing but I have had one. it also depends on what you call low 10 psi per 1000rpm is all you really need.

yeah i did just buy the car, and the amount of work done to it IS ridiculous. i had it relisted before this happens for 2k more then i payed for it and i was getting tons of offers. i keep waking up too late to any work done so its still just sitting in its current state.
