crank NO SPARK!!!
Well here i am i have gone through about 14 of my friends and their friends with the know hows of the ignition system on my 1989 5.0 mustang lets get down to whats been done....
i have replace the starter i have replaced the pip sensor, the ignition moduel 2 times, the coil, checked all my grounds and wires, cracks fine no spark from the coil. new spark plugs new sprak plug wires new clutch new tranny. we got it running today for the longest it has ran sences the tranny went out the timeing was kinda slugish (rpms arround 600-700) and we couldnt turn the distrubutor any farther with out takeing out. took it out then it crank and no start again any sudgestions at all would be awsome thanks guys!!!

I am somewhat on the same page as you, except I am installing a 5.0 into my 65. It cranks and wont start, then now spark on coil. I also replaced the coil, tfi, coil and cap. Mine was a starter solenoid not grounded. Something easy and stupid. Don't know if you have yours grounded. Also what firing order are you using,(don't really think that matters for spark). You should be using 13726548 by the way passenger side is 1-4 and drivers side is 5-8 from front to back. Don't ask me how I know learned the hard way.

thanks for the welcome im in fort hood ,tx. yes i have replaced the coil i have replace the entire ignition system but the ignition switch and the distributor its self i have replace the pick up pully inside the distributor im leaning more towards replaceing the distributor. but im tired of buying parts and not know what the problem is and it not working after replaceing the parts i put of 3,200 dollars into it but its my 3rd car in 4 months and still dose not work. any sujestions would be great!

Well if you pull the #1 plug and put it in the wire lay it on the strut tower pull the fuel pump fuse and turn the key you will see immediately if your spark system is working properly. The other problem is checking fuel which it seems like you have. i had this problem with my old car and it ended up being a much larger problem. If you check the spark the way i mentioned you need to get a leak down and compression check done. if there is no compression being made you will get anything from a weak erradic idle all the way to where my car was it didnt start at all. so there are a few other possibilities

when i had this issue it was both coil and dist....in my case i whent to the junkyard and just got a coil and dist to be on the safe side. tried the coil first nothing, then swapped in the new junkyard dist and it worked so i check my old coil and it was bad also. never figured out what part was bad on the dist.
