Default 1984 mustang intake/carb decision

Alright i have a regular stock intake on my 5.0..... but has a edelbrock performer 600.... Its a non roller motor.... Im looking for more performance.... But anyway i think it has a misfire... didnt have the chance to spray starter fluid around the intake spacer..... between that and the carb.... the studs dont come up all the way thru and i dont know if thats causing the miss or not... i looked at the plugs and they look perfect..... Everyone says go with the air gap and a holley... I just dont know what to go with..... Thanks Zac.

Does it miss at an idle or under a load as well?

I've personally selected the airgap and 670 Street avenger carb for my upcoming conversion. from what i read/hear its the best combo for my planned operating range of 1500-6000
