Default GT 40 Intake on 95 Gt 5.0

Would it be worth my money to replace my stock 5.0 intake with a Gt 40 intake? Would there be a larger increase in performance? Any suggetions good or bad are welcome. Thanks.

The 94-95 GT does not employ the 87-93 5.0 Intake manifold, but uses the lower profile Thunderbird Intake. When you accelerate, notice how it does not like to rev past 4400rpm. The Thunderbird intake is very restrictive, more so than the stock 5.0's. When I installed the GT-40 intake on my car(still with stock heads and stock cam), my low end torque dropped slightly, but the car moved up the tach so much freely. The intake, plus 4.10's dropped my 1/8th time from a 10.1@73, to a 9.39@79. It is worth it to swap intakes.

This Gt 40 intake is coming off of a 2000 Explorer 5.0 Limited.

The GT-40 tubular upper(which I have) flows slightly better than the Explorer/Cobra upper intake. But they all use the same lower intake. Like I said, it is worth it to do the swap. You will pick up power throughout the rpm. You can pick up a few more HP by gasket matching the lower intake manifold. All you really need is a die grinder. Oh and you will need a dog leg elbow(connects from the intake to the TB) to make it work on the 95 Mustang.
