Default Roller Rocker Question

Ok I got my AFR 165 heads and new 1.7 roller rockers well I just got the rockers and I guess I assumed they came with the rocker channels which keep them alligned. Do I need them I dont have any shims I do have the guide plates though

for pedastal mount rockers you need the guide channel

Did you get stud mount or pedastal mount heads and what rockers did you get.
