GM 1 Wire Alternator On Foxbody?
I've been having trouble with the electrical in my car it's not charging the battery I've checked all I know to check and someone said converting it over to a GM 1 wire would more than likely fix the problem, Has anyone ever done this on here and what all is required to do so?
Thanks

I have seen them polarized and start charging...Are you sure the alternator is good to begin with?
I bought this and it fits and works great. http://forums.corral.net/forums/show....php?t=1243154 The alternator is new and has a 3 month warranty. He claimed it was the same alternator PA performance sells but with less warranty. Reason being why it is cheaper.

I went had the old alt tested, it passed but i still bought a new one and still didnt fix the problem
Im not trying to insult you, But try finding the problem. Your just throwing parts at it.
Are you sure the battery/voltage regulator arent fried? Have you even checked the wiring?
Seriously, If you cant figure it out take it to a mechanic. It will be cheaper then throwing alternators at it.
I think its a bad idea to go the "1-wire route" to by-pass the problem, when you dont even know what the problem is.
The repair may be cheaper then you think.

Give up, do the blasphemous thing, mate GM to Ford. Henry is rolling in his grave. Brandon as Andy would say "Try to act like you got some smarts, don't do that." Folks here can walk you through this. One wire for dummies.
