My buddy is using my garage to swap the transmission modulator on his 87 Mustang GT. We have the replacement part from AutoZone and have pictures of where this damm thing is supposed be but hell if we can find it!!!

He isnt sure which transmission he has (c3, c4, etc) so we are looking for assistance in identifiying it or getting clarification on the location of the modulator.

Long and short he cant shift past 2nd and our research leads us to belive its the modulator or the vacuum line came disconnected. I'll be dammed if i can find the modulator itself or any vacuum line leading to it?!?!?

If you don't know what transmission he has, how did you get the correct part? You can probably count the number of bolts on the pan and figure it out. I was going to change the valve and filter on a friends 79 LTD, turns out the part store was wrong. His car didn't have a modulator valve and ended up with the wrong filter and gasket.

if it's an 87 and retains the oem tranny, it is NOT a c-3 or c-4 it is an AOD and has no modulator valve, check tv cable adjustment if shifts are off or not happening
