AOD Not downshifting after B&M shift kit installed
I took my 90 lx to the local trans shop that was recommended in town for performing quality trans work. I had them install the B&M transpack shift kit in my AOD. They installed the stage 2 street strip selection. Right after leaving I noticed my trans is not downshifting when pressing the accelerator. It will up shift great but will not downshift untill you come to a stop like at a stop sign or a stop light. It will down shift to first when coming to stop. So I took it back and they had no clue really what the deal was with it, they said they didnt think the shift kit would cause that. NOTE the trans shifted stock and normal before installing the shift kit. I checked the TV cable and adjusted it but no change in the down shifting. I called B&M and they stated that they really havnt had any issue in relation to mine. They only way I can get the vehicle to downshift while in motion is to shift down to 1 on the shifter then shift it back to D. What the heck is going on with my tranny?

Ok so if your in 3rd on D and you smash on pedal it doesnt down shift..? It should but if your like above 4k on rpm's on any gear it will not down shift, you must drop the gears man.., but cruising in 2nd or more like 3rd and you mash it and it doesnt down shift thenyou do have a problem. My AOD thats pretty built does down shift by itself, i love the way it down shifts when i exit the way way from 4th into 3rd, jerks nice!!

Yeah it does not down shift. I normaly cruise around town in D(3rd) instead of OD. But once it upshifts into that gear it is owned by that gear and will not downshift unless i slide the shifter to 1 and then back to D or OD. But it does upshift perfect..

ok i think i know what happened...., i got this from summitracing.com on there b&m transpak kit which i think is stage 2.
B&M Transpak kits create new shifting characteristics by re-routing fluids through your transmission's valve body. Each kit includes two options: RV/Heavy Duty and Hi-Performance Street. RV/Heavy Duty is for towing, off-roading, or other heavy-duty use. You get firmer shifts and full manual control over downshifts, with normal automatic operation when in "drive." Hi-Performance Street gives you quicker, snappier shifts than RV/Heavy Duty, with standard shift points and automatic features when in "drive."
I think they installed the wrong kit parts that make it the RV-heavy duty., I would let your mechanic know.
