ac fuse

Default ac fuse

sup guys new on here, have an 82 gt 351w etc. My question is my fuse keeps poppin for my ac when i turn the switch on and have no clue why. Live in phx az my only car and have a pregnant girlfriend so need to solve this quick.

Could be a bad compressor clutch. You could have a wire shorted somewhere. Unplug the clutch and turn it on, see if it still blows the fuse.

clutch works hooked a battery too it and started the car and it blows cold *** air. I could un hook it and try the fuse again.

then your short is somewhere in between. now you'll have to start tracing wires. check the a/c relay.

that means jack.....current draw is what you are looking at, I've had compressor clutches that work that have higher then recommended current draw due to excessive resistance in the windings on the coil circuit of the clutch, you'd have to check the resistance of the windings and compare to spec to properly rule that out.
