Default are cast speed pro pistons ok for powerdyne s/c

its a 89 roller block going in a 95 gt, I rebuilt the 302 bottom end . I have rpm heads correct springs ,f cam, ebrock intake, correct MAF,36 inj.,and 190 fuel pump, also powerdyne s/c... my question is do I have to have forged pistons? I put new 273AP sealed power speed pro flat top pistons in it, is the motor gonna last ......I havent finished the build yet.

I don't know specifics about that piston.

There are two things you want to account for here.
1 - piston to bore gap with the knowledge of how much growth the piston will have.

2 - Proper Top and mid ring end gaps needed to prevent binding.
end gaps depend a lot on the material being used and how hot the combustion gets.

As a point of reference: The last engine I built was SC @ 14psi and had 200hp shot of nitrous on top of that. I used Diamond forged pistons and I moly coated the skirts. Piston to bore gaps were 0.0035" (kinda on the tight side)
And ring gaps were 0.025" top and 0.022" for the mid.
This engine used a little oil but not real bad. Took about 1qt every 1500 miles or so.

Regards,
Rich

Cast will be very iffy! low boost good fuel and proper tune will be ok but risky! What dumbass bought aftermarket cast pistons? Stock mustang pistons arent even cast!

Cast pistons are very iffy even on an O.E. rebuild.
They are not cheaper when one fails.
Get yourself a good forged piston for any type of performance build.......
