Rear End making noise
i just installed upper/lower control arms and put some moser axles. now its making a whooping noise when accelerating or slowing down that is coming from the rear end. and a whistle like noise coming from the front as if i had a turbo or something. any ideas why it would do that?
took off the exhaust if it helps any. thanx

not sure what that is. all i did was take out the clips that hold the axles and take out the axles. i made sure of taking them out carefully so they wouldnt damage any bearings. going to get it checked out tomorrow to see whats wrong. hopefully nothing major. thanx

The whistling noise could be the smog pump (A.I.R.) tube. Did you make sure you reconnected it when you put your exhaust back on? (It's a 1/2" metal tube).
Out of curiosity, why did you replace the axles?
As for the whooping noise, have you gone back through and made sure everything was tight? It almost sounds like something is out of alignment.
Are the upper or lower control arms adjustable? If so, it's very possible that your pinion angle is off.

Yeah I did get adjustable lower control arms and tubular non-adjustable uppers from granatelli. I'll check the exhaust but I'm sure I tightened everything good. I changed the axles because I had sn95 axles and wanted stock length axles.

The noise is hard to describe but I have to rebuild my rear end because its has some bad bearing and too much back lash I don't know how it happen but it did. The control arms in my opinion are okay not great but will upgrade to some better ones later
