1993 Mustang LX Convertible Headliner
Can anyone tell me what holds the headliner to the convertible top, or holds it up, just forward of the rear window? Mine is sagging. The outer top was replaced and I think the guy who replaced it didn't replace all the parts that hold the headliner up. It also doesn't look as if the sides, just to the rear of the rear windows, are secured properly.
The original headliner was re-used. It has three strips of velcro attached to the inside/top portion of it, but there is no velcro where it should attach anywhere else opposite the places on the headliner. There is a steel bar that runs from one side of the car to the other side, and it would seem this is where the velcro would be attached, as it is in about the right place. There wasn't any there, so I put some industrial strength velcro strips on that bar, but I can't get one of them to hold, probably because of the Las Vegas heat. Is there something else supposed to be near that bar with whatever it is that attaches to the headliner velcro? If so, would you be so kind to post pictures, or describe it thoroughly, so I can see if I'm missing something please.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

On my 93 the part that connects to the rear bow has pushpins. Look on the back of the rear bow and see if it doesn't have tiny holes about a foot apart or so. You will have to get in the back seat to see them because the holes are so small, you can't hardly feel them. I bet he left them out.
The two middle bows have just a 3 foot long plastic clip that will clamp onto those bows. The metal bars are for the top, not the headliner.
