Default 3rd Broken Oil pump shaft

Guys ive been throuh three oil pump shafts. I broke two regular Melling oil pump shafts(O'reilly auto parts) so i decided to get a better one. I ordered a Ford Racing oil pump shaft and left the yard mashed it to maybe 6000 rpm and got out of it and i broke the ford racing shaft also. Im out of guesses. Everytime i replaced a shaft ive replaced the oil pump also. The first two oil pumps were just stock replacement but the last one was a higher volume oil pump. Do i need to get a higher performance oil pump or something. I dnt have any other ideas

Thanks guys

After the 3rd, I'd be looking into an oiling system restriction.

How free does the distributor spin?.......well, now that I think about, that shouldn't make a difference...idk, I am going to have to think on this one.

Post pics of the shaft, pics of the pump, etc..

There is no need to go to a high volume pump or aftermarket shaft... because something is clearly wrong. Stock pumps have worked for 20-30 years, why is yours different.

I would think a restricted suction screen would ruin the pump due to cavitation but shouldn't break the drive shaft. The impeller should spin freely weather it's pumping fluid or not. And if it's a plugged suction screen your going to have bigger problems because your not going to get oil to vital parts! I would assume whoever is changing these pumps out would check the suction tube. There has got to be some kind of alignment issue. Check to make sure the oil pump mounting bolts are tight and not cross threaded And the distributor drive gear looks good. If it's a restriction on the discharge side of the pump. You need to find it before the motor blows. Take off a valve cover and make sure you have good oil flow with the next repair.
