I have a 1993 5.0 LX Convertible that ran very well until just recently. I drove it from VA to TX without any issue (got over 25 mpg doing it). Now it will turn over, but not start. I replaced the coil because it was not producing spark when I put a plug in the coil wire and tested it against the intake manifold. At the same time this happened, I saw a small wire laying under the driver's side dash. Could this wire have anything to do with the issue?

so is the coil not producing spark even with the new one??

Yes, the same thing is happening with the new coil. Any ideas?

unbolt the tfi and get it tested at the autoparts store
