Got a new project! 5.0 Summer Edition Vert
Hey guys, I recently picked up a 92' LX 5.0 Convertible summer edition, 5 speed. It's been sitting for about six years, and needs lots of work. I will doing a light restoration on it and posting pics if anyone is interested. I may also have questions for the knowledgeable. On to the details;
The Good;
BBK lowering springs (blue in color, not sure as to how low the drop is)
Shocks (some off brand, will post name when I remember to look again)
Subframe connectors (welded in)
Extra set of pearl white rims!!!
Headers (not sure of brand)
New H-Pipe with converters (someone stole the original so this one came with car)
Looks Like timing cover, w/p...ect in the front of engine have been done (seals look fresh...relatively speaking)
New Shoes/hardware
The Bad:
Sitting for six years (give or take)
Needs Vert Top
Needs Interior (seats, carpet @ the minimum)
Needs Tires
Needs Headlights (came with projector HID's, not my style)
Needs Mufflers (cat-back is rusted out)
Saleen Spoiler (this is a summer edition, so I would like the original spoiler)
Couple Questions;
Is this car worth restoring to original? I plan on keeping it for the time being, but I'd like to be able to get my money out of it if need be. I work at a shop, so I can do all the wrenching myself, and get parts at wholesale...so I can do most everything at a reasonable price. However original leather seat covers and door panels will run me $1200 alone, not to mention carpet and top. The original model came with white leather/black piping. Im debating on going vinyl to save money, but might regret it in the long run. What do you guys think?
One last thing...how do I post pics that are saved on my hard drive?

I don't really think there is a fox body out there worthy of a full restoration as an investment. If you have some kind of sentimental value to that model that's a different story. Any picture hosting sight can be used to post pics on a forum. I use a sight called tinypic. Photobucket is another popular sight.

Really, even a summer edition? I read they fetch $10k + for one in nice condition? It would probably only cost me $3k to get it nearly perfect. Regular fox verts go for around $6k in my area. I figured it would be worth dropping $3k into and having fun with it for a while...maybe I was wrong?

It wouldn't have super low miles, but it would be in excellent condition. I've seen one with low miles less than 5k go for $29k, and one with 60k go for $15k. So I think around $10k give or take is doable. Im really not doing this for profit as much as I am a hobby, and I like the car. But I once it's done I get bored quickly and want something else. Anyway, dropped the tank today and replaced the fuel pump, sending unit and seals. Also did fuel filter. She fired right up...with help of starter fluid lol. It was open headers when I got it, but I put on a h pipe with converters, still waiting on the cat-back to come in. If I want to post pics it has to be a link, I can't upload directly to the page?

ther's an azz for every seat.............the 29k unless it was a rare model fox......is a stupid price and obviously buyer had no common sense
