Default Similar issue here

I live in Florida. You may have read that sometimes it gets a bit hot here. A couple months ago while on a long trip on a very hot day, the car quit. Was told that it was probably the ignition control module. Since I was planning on upgrading to a whole new MSD billet distributor and all the associated parts, I stepped up the plans and decided to go ahead and do it right away. No more issues until the exact same thing happened last week. I was able to start the car after a cool down and nurse it home (about 100 miles) but the symptoms were the same as before ... ran fine for about an hour, then the trouble started. Frustrating. Suggestions?

Thanks!

My problem ended up being the reman distributor that I got. You should get your ignition module tested first. Did you put a new msd distributor along with a new module?

Yes, I put in a new MSD digital ignition module, plus the billet distributor and new MSD wires. You must excuse my stupidity when it come to all these new electronics. My age is beginning to show. Guess I'm not the gearhead I once was back in the '70s. I have this "digital ignition module" mounted on the inner fender but I also have that "thingy" coming out of the distributor where the original module used to be. Not sure what that is but it's definitely necessary as there are several wires coming it.
