Default play in rear end

i gotta 88vert and my rear end has some play in it, when im crusing in 2nd gear and i let off the gas i can feel the rear end have play in it, could it be the pinion or ring gear worn out?

do you mean that the gears have slop or that the actually rear end slides around??

gears have slop in them, and when i put my car up on the rack, i can actuly pull both axles out very slightley

sounds like a good reason to get new gears (3.73s) to me!! how many miles does this car have on the rear end???

some of the bearings and seals might be getting a little old. it might be a good idea to get them replaced. and while you are paying them (or DIY) to take apart the rear end put some good gears in there <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">
