And that is exactly the point....... you do not need to get a tune IF and, ONLY IF, you don't skimp on the other stuff. I have worked SN95 setups with B-303, X-303, Stg1, Schneider cams w/out any problems....... you do need to follow the required Engine 101 procedures, avoid shortcuts, set it correctly...... and avoid getting 2nd.-3rd. grade components due to their sticker price, their real cost is eventually higher when you try/have to "crutch them" by other means.

i understand no one that has spent a ton of money on heads likes the idea that pro comps could possibly be good but there are all alot of people out there that have them and like them compared to there stockers ...thats all im looking for ... i didn't start this thread for you to talk shiat about my heads i just just wanted a suggestion as to what what be a good streetable cam with my combo ...THANKS to those of you who could do that without cutting me down to make yourself feel better
have you ever had a pair yourself or are you just talking to hear yourself

keep a build tally of the money it costs to use those heads, and some dyno sheets would be nice to see the before and after results...
a #19 will be fine, use 1.6 rockers though.
i bet you dont even see 30rwhp...

put a steeda # 19 cam in or have a custom cam designed to max heads potential , but then again that is where the cost will sky rocket cause the first thing the custom cam designer will tell you is that he doesn't want the valvetrain to limit his design potential...after all one is after max potential so what others are saying is you shouldn't design a combo around one specific component.....anyway the first thing a custom cam guy will do is trash the complete valvetrain..ie, springs, locks, retainers ect ect....... so being that the pro-comp heads valvetrain is cheap, that'll limit your cam choices/ crutch the combo potential....so if you plan to use the pro-comp heads in their stock form - OTB then steeda 19 or maybe a tfs stage 1 cam.....but even at that I've seen stage 1 cams have valve float/ valve damage with the minimal springs recommended that tfs sells...anyway just my experience

I bought my Canfields for $650... do some leg work and you'll find some nice stuff.
and no, i havent had them myself. I screwed up once buying RHS heads... Luckily, someone else did the leg work on the pro comps... for me...

look through that thread. You will see the name of one of the SBF communities best cam grinders.
tell me THAT isnt a solid enough voice to base these debates on.
