Default A3M computer v. A9L

Hi Guys,

I was doing some work to my '93 GT (orig 5spd car), I took the kick panel off to look at the computer. I was surprised to see that it was coded A3M, and not an A9L. Quick research shows that this is another oddball of the 1993 model year. I had previously thought the only computers at that time were the A9L stick and A9P for autos.

I have a basic gt-40 h/c/i package put together that i want to get tuned. Gt-40 X303 heads, e303, gt-40 intake. The tuner i will most likely go to uses SCT software. hey were closed today, but I'm just looking for a little tuning info on this computer.

Is it worth me going out and finding a A9L?
any issues associated with the A3M and tuning?
any issues with SCT ovcer any other brand software?
Any more difficult to work with in your experiences, where I might get hit up for more $

Im curious, I felt left out in the dark on this one...

Thank you very much, any info and experiences are appreciated!
