High rpms seat rings and the normal operating rpms burnish in the bearings u can get on it plenty just try to stay away from ur engines redline. I drive 500 on all the engines I build and then hit the track I stay below 5k for the first 500 thought.

When I was a Jeep tech at a dealership I would run the **** out of new engines cause if it could handle me then it could handle the customer. So go for it and start having some high RPM fun

It's true. An engine that breaks at 5 miles would have broken the same at 501 miles.

That is very true. O agree 100% the tradeoff bearing wear engine life etc. it is proven over yrs n yrs of r&d done by top notch aircraft engine manufacturers. Just some useless babble though right.

i've always did 500 just on the break in. i usually try to take roads with lights, and some city and highway driving in the first 500. the next 500 before 1000 i will start to give it a little more. i did break in my rebuilt 5.0 after about 400 miles with a trip from jersey to boston. 250 miles one way. there was a lot of traffic on the highways too. i broke in my mach 1 4.6 rebuild going from sonoma county california all the way down to la county, and back down highway 101. it was a nice ride. don't beat it too hard the first 500 miles. you can give it a little bit of speed with no problems.
