I have them so yes I agree they are not the same, just theorizing that the internal baffling is the same, using slightly different pipe sizes and less sound deadening. Not volunteering for this but a cut away of the stocks and the gt500s compared would be interesting. Power to the op for trying for something unique. My own exhaust experiments on my last car was a pain, gonna stick with bolt ons. I do like the modularity of the system.

If you don't like the end result perhaps try cutting the resonators out. You appear to have the tools and know how for that.

For some reason I think the 500's are packed with glass? They probably have 2 perforated internal tubes surrounded by fiberglass or something...I say that because I notice they are getting deeper as time goes on.

Thanks guys...the way I look at it is its only costing me time and a couple bucks worth of welding supplies. Plus its fun and keeps me busy (off the street selling crack)

If they are getting deeper they must be glass packs. The metal baffling of a chambered muffler should not change or "break in" very much as its just metal in there.

I will be curious to find out whats inside the "muffling" area of the muffler (1/3 closest to axle). Hopefully I can just remove a portion of the muffling so that when I install the OR X or H it will not be SUPER loud.
