I just can't wait to see if the rumors are true about the 2011 Stang getting the 400/400 5.0L 4V Coyote V8.

I hadn't checked on that rumor in a while, but I just checked up on it and, turns out, it has been confirmed. There's also speculation that the EcoBoost V6 may be made as an alternative engine. This engine is also supposed to be slightly smaller and lighter than the current 4.6L. So... if the Stang was this close with a 315hp 4.6L and a 5-Speed, imagine it with a 400hp 5.0L and a 6-Speed. Keep in mind it shouldn't be any heavier. Good Bye, Camaro.

So do you think the automakers can create V8s that get > 39 mpg? As just announced by Pres Obama, by 2016 the fleet average for cars is to be > 39 mpg. The 39MPG is a ave across the fleet...so maybe each manuf will have a few cars that V8s in the future but I wouldn't be surprised if right now is the golden age of the big V8 and we see a decline in the future (smaller displacement or perhaps highly boosted engines). All I can say is I'm glad I have two relatively new Muscle cars now, there might not be as much muscle in the future, or if there is its likely not due to displacement. Time will tell.

No Camaro's at track yet, have to wait till it cools down, went up against a Challenger SRT8 last spring, he got owned, the car looks great but at 425 HP you would think it would have some *****, its does but unfortunately they weigh 4100 lbs !!! lol

I think the Camaro SS will beat us at 1/4 but not by much and for $$ 12k more I will keep my S197.

I've seen all of them up close and on the highway. They're all nice cars. I actually prefer the Challenger out of all of them though.

I'll take one Challenger and one Camaro! IMO they both have done good getting that retro style back. The Camaro looks the best between the 2.

The one thing that will come out good for the future is that cars are going to have to get lighter to meet these standards, while also keeping safety at the top of the list.

I think we are at or near the 'peak' of the new muscle car age, so enjoy it while it lasts.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sub 3000lb mustang again (1965 anyone?) with a modern 260ci V8 that revs to 7000+ rpms !!
