Well, it took me an hour and a half to rip out the old fan and fuel tank. Getting it ready for when the parts come. I looked inside the fuel tank and I don't really see anything floating around in the tank. IF what you mean by baffling is the rectangular two-inch tall sheet metal at the bottom with curved edges like this ). That seems to be ok.

Everything is installed (new tank, fuel regulator, sending unit, fuel lines) - ClassicTubes sold me a defective fuel line and it took a week and a half to send it back to me.

Anyways, I've put about 3 gallons of gas in the new fuel tank. When I turn the ignition to the ON position, the fuel pump turns on, but it doesn't suck up any gas. I can hear the fuel pump, but it sounds louder than usual. Anyone know what the problem is???

I don't wanna fill the tank up and find out I've gotta drop it out.. ya know?

put a pressure gauge on the fuel rail and you will have to turn the key/cycle it on and off about 10-15 times before the rail is completely purged/pressurized after such a repair

I actually installed one recently, before the recent install, and the fuel pump just sounds "dry".... I don't sense that the pump is even touching gas... within the fuel tank... its just a feeling..

but I really don't feel like pulling the gas tank out again... I would like to avoid it...

I noticed you said you wanted an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I have a like new aeromotive fuel pressure regulator Id be willing to sell you at a fair price... PM me if youre interested.

I was wondering if I needed one, but right now the stock regulator is doing the job of keeping it in the right range. I may need one down the line though, when my plans of supercharging come into play. Thanks for the heads up.

THANKS MJR..... The pump was just working harder, it all makes sense now.

That fan and fan clutch from 50resto works amazing!! Theirs so much more air circulating around the engine bay now, its crazy!

My engine idling a little high, so I'll have to reset my idle, and I THINK the problem is gone, it only did the sputtering ONCE (but hardly at all) I'll have to repost after the following is done. BUT I was so happy to hear my car again, that I forgot to refill my car with coolant (replaced heater core hoses) - i was only driving it around the neighborhood for two secs so its cool. But very unlike me hahah

not good.

I took the car out for a 28mile round-trip...

The hesitation and sorta-backfiring sound, has come back...
When you give the car gas it usually does it.
It doesn't do it all the time, but under more pressure (or even a hill)
Sounds like its climbing stairs during open throttle.

My mechanic friend insists that its all motor. I have no idea.

This power loss sucks.
