Just remember Dynos are tools... you can take your car to 5 different dynos and come home with 5 completely different numbers so I wouldn't say the numbers are BS they are just numbers. That's what is so great about the track.. it's 'standardized'.

We got a better intake but we also got a weaker truck cam... everything I've seen shows no real peak gains but more power under the curve. Considering the 1998 car still holds the record in the 1/4 mile I can't believe my 01 is making more power.

Usually around 300 whp is the general rule of thumb for a stock LS1. Like S8ER said, dynos can be made to say whatever the shop owner wants, so you have to take those numbers with a grain of salt.

Yeah, i totally agree with you guys on the dyno thing! I dynoed my car on 2 different dynojets within a 2 week period (shops were having their "dyno days") and got an extra 12 hp between the 2. The weather was similar, and they were both in house dynojets.

So, now i just stick with one dyno (weather it's right or wrong) to accurately track my progress.

I had my old car dyno'd on several dyno's. It was one of the slower years being a '98, and it still made 325rwhp with iirc just a cutout. That was through an automatic btw. Then, after the cam/headers swap, it made 400'ish rwhp and roughly the same torque. Then, on another dyno again, it made 500rwhp/496rwtq on a 100hp dry shot on the factory fuel system.

Anyhow, there's a personal FYI for ya.

EDIT: I know MM&FF tested a stock LS1 Camaro and it put down 32xrwhp. There's a link to it somewhere on here. I'm just too lazy to dig it up.

Good run S8ER! Sounds like you had him if he hadn't of jumped.
