Suspension/Steering Torque Specs....
Does someone with a GOOD service manual have the torque specs for the following list of connections on a 1966 Mustang Coupe - 289 4V. My Chilton's is pretty much worthless in this area.
- Lower Control Arm to Frame?
- Upper Ball Joint to Spindle?
- Lower Ball Joint to Spindle?
- Pitman Arm to Steering Box?
- Outer Tie Rod End to Spindle?
- Inner Tie Rod End to Center Link?
- Center Link to Pitman Arm?
- Idler Arm to Center Link?

LCA will depend on whether you have an eccentric eliminator(mine is 50lb-ft iirc) or it's the stock eccentric. Upper and lower ball joints are around 40lb-ft iirc, pitman arm to steering box is something like 150-200lb-ft(for the 1-1/8 shaft, your's may be smaller, yeah, a lot) Tie rod ends are like 30lb-ft iirc...which would be about the same for the connections to the link.
Do yourself a favor though and buy a decent manual that has torque specs in it. Barring though you can get an engineers cheat sheet that lists torque specs based on size and thread pitch of connectors.
