I bought my 1996 mustang GT (2002 gt engine and tranny) and it has a cassette player in it...It doesnt seem to really match the car, it powers on and tells time and everything, but i have to turn it up FULL blast to barely hear the radio. Is that a telltale symptom of anything? I've never had a car thats had a stereo so forgive my noobyness.


I am about to drive from michigan to texas and could really use some tunes. I was thinking about getting a new stereo but was wondering if the speakers were blown/messed up or something. Thanks for your time.

is it the stock cassette? mach system?

im not sure. i tought they all came with cd players. I find it amusing that the PO would have leather seats and options but opt for cassette.

do the speaker grill say mach on them anywhere? is there a rack of amps in the back under the rear window? Does the deck say ford/jbl or anything on it? I don't care about the interior color nor cloth, if the windows are tinted for if you have snow tires on it as it doesn't tell me what came with the cars stereo or what has been done to it. work with us and we can help you through this.
