Default 2013 sound questions

I've got a 2013 with the Shaker system and it sounds alright but I'm not delighted with it. In fact I wasn't delighted with the stereo in any of the cars I test drove, though the Challenger was pretty good.

My Taurus had driver-facing tweeters in the A-pillars, where the mirror **** is in the Mustang, and I really liked those. Is there any way to reproduce that direct, bright sound of driver-facing tweeters in the Mustang?

Also, is the shaker system EQ'd in some way? I get better sound out of an iPod connected through USB than I do out of the radio or satellite radio. Not just subtly better; the radio and satellite radio sounds muddy in comparison and I'm wondering if they're being EQ'd and the iPod input isn't.

Hi Amy. i believe I just answered your question in one of your later post. i have the shaker 500 an there are 3 factory amps. 1 in the trunk on the left quarter panel which amplifies the 4 door speakers. and 2 amps just to the left of the drivers left which amplify the 2 subs(1 for each sub).
The ipod sounds better because it is a more compact signal than the radio broadcast. Think of it like cable tv and a bluray disk. cable tv cant stream as compact of a signal as directly playing a bluray disk. Thats why bluray looks so much better.

I've ordered two pair of these:

Infinity 6829CF 300W (Peak) 6 x 8 / 5 x 7 -Inch 2-Way Speakers

I already have the 6x8 brackets from 2010-2012 to install in my 2013. I plan to install the door speakers myself. The rear deck I'll try to get to, but might pay someone competent to install those
