'66 GT350--what to look for to make sure it's legit?

Good news. I got some more details:
-It's Wimbledon White (original color) with blue stripes
-The paint is decent, but not show quality
-It has a 4spd manual transmission
-It's a later-model '66 Shelby with the steel hood
He's having some pictures sent my way as well as the VIN.

For the most part, I'm inclined to agree. However, this wouldn't be the first time that an older widow didn't have any clue what she had and sold it for peanuts. It's definitely a rare scenario, though..
My dad (who is far more knowledgable about classic cars than I am) and I intend to take a truck and trailer down to check it out.. I'll make sure to post pics.
