1967 Exhaust Kit advice needed
I am a new owner - I have a 1967 convertible with a 289 that needs a new exhaust (just bought it in the fall - and just got it out of storage!); I'm slightly confused about what I need. I like the sound (quiet at cruise and slightly throaty at acceleration) and price of the Dynomax Super Turbo. It does not have headers and I can't find any manifold back kits online (and Summit indicated it doesn't appear any are made). I would like a dual exhaust even though the stock is single.
Options that seem available to me include:
--A local reputable muffler shop said they would just fabricate and install everything for $500 (I would buy the muffler). This seemed a bit pricey and maybe unnecessary (?). (They seemed slightly disinterested in installing a kit for me)
--Another chain shop with a well regarded guy there said if I buy a kit then he would install everything for $150. This seems like a good and reasonably priced option but I can't find any kits (and have been told sometimes the kits don't work)
--This appears to be another stock option: http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ite...atKey=EMUSTANG
Questions: Does anyone know if a manifold back is made, or otherwise have recommendations about the best way to install a single to dual exhaust cost efficiently?
Many thanks. (I live in Ann Arbor, MI in case anyone has any options around here)

What I would do is piece together everything.

Then just buy your mufflers and tips you want, take it to a muffler shop and have them install everything.
